Bowen Technique is a light touch remedial therapy that balances the body structurally (muscularly and skeletally), physiologically and emotionally. It is a non-intrusive hands-on therapy which stimulates healing and can increase energy levels and pain relief. A soft (connective) tissue therapy, no manipulation of joints or needles are involved and finger pressure and action is used with muscles, tendons and ligaments, allowing resting periods for the body to respond.
It is not effective to balance a horse and leave its rider unbalanced or harbouring pain or tension as it will re-injure the horse; we are therefore fully qualified through the European College of Bowen Studies and the European School of Equine Bowen Therapy to treat both horse and rider as required.
Bowen therapy can help your horse and yourself take the time that is needed to re-balance. Bowen helps solve equine problems and behavioural issues making your relationship and riding more pleasurable.
Often a series of up to five treatments are needed to facilitate the changes that are sought. Many problems will see significant improvement after only 2 or 3 treatments at weekly intervals. You will need to follow guidelines and remedial exercises to ensure you gain the most benefit from you treatments.

Human Bowen treatment is carried out through light clothing while lying down and is often a relaxing and enjoyable experience. We come to your yard to treat you and your horse, although Bowen for yourself is best in a warm quiet environment.
The Equine Bowen Therapy profession is approved and supported by the European College of Bowen Studies, the Bowen Therapists' European Register and is recognised by the British Holistic Veterinary Medicine Association.
Equine Bowen Therapy is also recognised by the the RCVS (Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons) as a form of physiotherapy.
It is mandatory that you consult your vet for consent to use Bowen Therapy with your horse.
After each consultation we will provide you with written recommendations of activities and actions, especially in relation to use of tack, riding and training techniques, that you need to take or avoid, ensuring the best possible outcome from your treatments.
